This 1983 Porsche 911SC Cabriolet was first registered in California and remained with one family in Oregon for three decades before being purchased by the current owner on BaT in March 2023. Powered by a 3.0-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle, the car is finished in Platinum Metallic over black leather upholstery. Equipment includes 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, a black soft top, fog lights, front sport seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, air conditioning, and a cassette stereo. Work performed since 2023 has included adjusting the valves and replacing the spark plugs and wires, drive belts, timing chain tensioners, starter, windshield, door seals, and tires.
The car is finished in Platinum Metallic and features a replacement black soft top, fog lights, dual side mirrors, and rear bumperettes. The right rocker panel was repaired and refinished, the front bumper and lower front valance were repainted, and the windshield and door seals were replaced in 2023. There are scratches to the left of the exhaust finisher. Close-up photographs of the exterior finish and trim are shown in the gallery below.
The 16″ Fuchs wheels have black centers and are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires that were installed in January 2023. Bilstein dampers are fitted, and stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes with ventilated rotors.
The cabin features sport front seats upholstered in black leather along with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include power windows, Porsche-branded floor mats, a Technics cassette stereo, and air conditioning, the latter of which has been converted to utilize R134a refrigerant and was recharged under current ownership.
The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel frames a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a 170-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for oil level, oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 8k miles, approximately 400 of which were added under current ownership. The speedometer head was replaced in 2008, and the odometer was reset at 128k miles in 2013. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.0-liter flat-six features Bosch fuel injection and was factory rated at 172 horsepower and 189 lb-ft of torque. The valves were adjusted, the cooling fan and shroud were refinished, an air box pop-off valve was installed, and the spark plugs, spark plug wires, drive belts, timing chain tensioners, starter, and air intake tubes were replaced in 2023.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. The transaxle was overhauled and the clutch assembly was replaced in 1993. The underside was treated with dry ice and the transaxle fluid was changed in 2023, and the shifter bushings were replaced in 2025.
