This 1969 Plymouth Road Runner convertible is said to have remained with its original owner until around 2020, and subsequently fitted with a 440ci V8 topped by a four-barrel carburetor. This 1969 Plymouth Road Runner convertible is said to have remained with its original owner until around 2020, and subsequently fitted with a 440ci V8 topped by a four-barrel carburetor. Finished in white with a power-operated black convertible top over black vinyl upholstery, the car is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission, Foose 17″ wheels, an Air Grabber hood, power steering, front bucket seats, and an Alpine cassette stereo.
Finished from the factory in Saddle Bronze (T7), the car has been repainted in white. Features include a power-operated black convertible top, Road Runner graphics, chrome bumpers, a driver-side mirror, and chrome exhaust outlets that exit below the rear bumper. The Air Grabber hood has black and red accents and “440” emblems. Dents at the front corners of the car, scratches in the paint, pitted bright trim, and other imperfections are pictured in the gallery below.
Chrome-finished Foose 17″ wheels are mounted with 215/45 Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires. A Magnum 500–style spare is located in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by drums at all four corners.
The front bucket and rear bench seats are upholstered in black vinyl and are complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. A Chrysler Solid State AM radio is positioned in the dashboard, and an Alpine cassette stereo is mounted below the dash. The car also has aftermarket speakers, a heater, and a locking glovebox.
The three-spoke steering wheel has a Road Runner “Beep! Beep!” center cap and frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary readouts for alternator status, fuel level, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 9k miles, approximately 100 of which were added by the selling dealer; true mileage is unknown.
The 440ci V8 was installed by the selling dealer and is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and a Coyote Duster air cleaner. The car’s chassis number indicates that it was originally powered by a 383ci V8.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a Sure-Grip limited-slip differential.
The fender tag indicates that the vehicle is a Plymouth Road Runner convertible (RM27) that left the factory equipped with a 383ci V8 featuring a four-barrel carburetor (E63) along with a four-speed manual transmission (D21). The tag also reveals that the car was originally finished in Saddle Bronze (T7) over front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in tan vinyl (M6T).
